Why You Should Be A Louise's Angels Babysitter or Nanny

When I started Louise's Angels Babysitting Service I was a college student who wanted to continuously be surrounded by children. I have always loved children since I had my first babysitting experience when I was about ten years old. During the time I started my business I was working part-time at McDonald's and part-time at a child care center. I imagined taking children to the fair, babysitting during date nights and whatever else babysitters do. Most importantly I imagined myself being a business owner. That is when the referral system came to mind. I understood that my business would not expand overnight so there was no chance of me quitting my jobs and I still had a few years of school left. I decided to come up with a referral program where I refer babysitters when I am not available. Not long after I began this program I had a mother who needed services while she attended college and it worked out great. As Louise's Angels grows over the years the referral system will continue to expand as well and that's where Louise's Angels babysitters and nannies come in. I have listed popular questions below as well as the next steps to begin your child care career.

What exactly is a babysitter and a nanny?

A babysitter is someone who temporarily cares for children on behalf of the children's parents or guardians. Typically babysitters provide custodial care which means meeting the essential needs of children to include making sure they are safe, fed, and occupied. Babysitters may also be responsible for transporting children, laundry, and food preparation.

A nanny is someone who is fully invested in a child's development and well-being. Nannies typically have more responsibility than a babysitter does. Nannies can be part-time or full-time and may also have the option to live in the families' home. Many nannies have a weekly schedule along with a salary which means more responsibility. They may have the task of creating a daily schedule for children and become a new family member in no time.

Can I be a babysitter and a nanny?

If you would like to extend your time with children it is possible to be both a nanny and a babysitter. As I stated early nannies usually have a set schedule with few changes. To qualify as a Louise's Angels Babysitter you must be at least 18 years of age and have at minimum three months of child care experience. A nanny must meet the minimum age requirement and have at least one year of child care experience.

How long will I be placed with a family?

Families have a variety of preferences when they contact Louise's Angels for a sitter or nanny. After completing a caregiver application you will remain on the caregiver registry for one year. When a family expresses the need for a caregiver you will be contacted as a potential babysitter or nanny for the family. An interview with Louise's Angels and/or the family will be scheduled and all background checks, Motor Vehicle Records, and First Aid/CPR certifications must be completed before placement begins.
