Becoming a Praying Parent

One of the most important benefits of being a child of God is being able to give all of our problems to God. While most pray as a last resort, prayer should be the first choice when facing a situation we don't know how to deal with. God knows everything that will happen in our lives (Jeremiah 29:11), so it is always best we ask him for direction in all that we do (Psalm 37:23). Prayer helps relieve us of the burden we often carry when we worry about things that are out of our control. When we give our entire lives to God, we can walk in peace knowing everything will be just fine.

As a parent, prayer must become a part of our daily lives. We cannot be with our children at all times, but God can. We cannot protect them from everything, but God can. God can supernaturally keeps His eye on our children and work things out on their behalf. From pregnancy until adulthood, prayer will always be effective (James 5:16). We should pray continuously throughout the day (1 Thessalonians 5:17), but sometimes our circumstances call for designated prayer sessions.

In The Morning

Morning prayer is essential because we need God to cover our entire day. In the mornings, we should have an extended prayer session asking God to cover our family, our children's schools, our workplace, and everything else that will take place that day. We need to ask God to guide our every step, our words and our minds. Release everything on your mind during your morning prayer so that God can grant you peace throughout the day. If you don't know what to say, recite the Lord's prayer (Matthew 6:9-13). This prayer will cover your entire day. After you have prayed, walk in victory and believe that everything you have asked God for has been done (Mark 11:24).

Always

Prayer should be continuous all throughout the day and it should never stop (1 Thessalonians 5:17). Even a few words are enough for God to hear you and step into your situation. Prayer is one of the many ways we talk to God so there is no specific way to pray nor are there a certain amount of words we should use. We can pray to ask God for direction, we can ask God what words to say to someone, and we can even pray for our healing. God is powerful and prayer is one of the many ways we can see God move in our lives.

When Were Seeking A Miracle

One of the most important times to pray is when were seeking God for a miracle. God is a miracle worker and He wants to perform a miracle in your life. God waits on us to turn to Him so He can show up. When you're in a situation and there is nothing left for you to do, keep praying and wait for your miracle. God has done it before and He can do it again (John 11:1-45).
